Khakiv National Medical University
Kharkiv National Medical University (KhNMU) is a modern diversified higher medical education institution with a powerful research, material and technical facilities using the latest information technologies in the training process, including e-learning, distance learning sessions, teleconferences. The main fields of activities are providing higher medical education to Ukrainian and foreign students, CME and research. KhNMU offers degree courses in General Medicine, Pediatrics, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Dentistry; Nursing Care, Laboratory Diagnosis, Human Health, Social Work; General Medicine, Nursing Care, Midwifery; Pedagogics of Higher Education, Administrative Management. The University also provides pre-university and postgraduate training. The University comprises 7 faculties; Education and Research Institute for Postgraduate Training of KhNMU; College of Medicine; Research Institute of Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Diseases; Scientific-Practical Medical Centre; University Dental Centre; Centre for Preclinical and Clinical Research, Centre for Gender Education, Centre for Minimally Invasive Technologies and Cardiovascular Surgery. At the University, the Committee on Ethics and Bioethics has been functioning since 2001.
KhNMU has been a member of the International Association of Universities since 1998; it is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. The university ranks 2409 out of 11,000 universities in the world. The University takes the 26th general place and the 5th place among higher medical educational establishments of Ukraine in the scientometrical database SCOPUS. It ranks 47th among Ukrainian higher educational establishments by UNESCO “TOP 200”. In 2015, the Order of Honour and Silver Diploma by the rating “Golden Fortune” were awarded to the University. KhNMU became a laureate of the rating of higher educational establishments “Ukraine-2000”.
In 2010, the University won an honorary title “Leader of Modern Education” at the International Exhibition “Modern Education of Ukraine”; in 2011-2012 – “Leader of National Education” at the International Exhibitions “Education and Career - 2011” and “Education and Career - 2012”. The University was repeatedly marked at the international exhibition Contemporary Education in Ukraine, received the honorary title of Leader of National Education, gold medal in the category Development of Student Research Work and at the exhibition Education and Career.
